Explore the new Darksteel set, where artifacts forged from the mysterious darksteel metal are indestuctable and modular creatures make you pay dearly if they're destroyed.
Far from Dominaria, in a distant corner of the Multiverse, lies Mirrodin , a plane made entirely of metal! From the core of this artifact rich environment comes Darksteel, the second Magic: The Gathering expansion in the Mirrodin block! Formidable new mechanics and exciting new themes await you in this 165-card series introduced in four unique, 61-card theme decks and supplemental 15-card boosters.
The Darksteel set is everything you loved about Mirrodin and more: more equipment, more artifacts, more abilities, and even more cards. Darksteel is the first "small" Magic expansion to release with 165 cards. Among them, you'll find artifacts that are indestructible--which means just what it says: destruction effects don't send them to the graveyard. And if it's an indestructible creature, damage won't do the job, either.
Darksteel introduces two new abilities to the Mirrodin block and expands on affinity by including spells that have affinity for different basic land types.
- Indestructible - Indestructible permanents can't be destroyed. Not by anything. If a spell tries to destroy an indestructible permanent, nothing happens--not even if the spell prevents regeneration.
- Modular - Modular is always listed with a number; an artifact creature with modular comes into play with that many +1/+1 counters on it. When that creature is put into a graveyard, you can put its +1/+1 counters onto any other artifact creature in play.
The only things getting broken here are rules.
Arm yourself with Darksteel!
